Mr. Orlando J. "Eli" DiPaolo 87, of Beverly beloved husband of the late Jane R. (Grasso) DiPaolo, died Saturday November 16, at home with his family by his side.
Born in Niles, Ohio, son of the late Thomas and Gilda (Nina) DiPaolo. He was raised and educated in the Niles school system.
Eli was the mainstay of DiPaolo's North Beverly Gardens. Prior to that he had been employed at Essex Engineering in Lynn. He enjoyed carrying on the family tradition of gardening, growing flowers and landscaping.
A loving husband, father and grandfather he enjoyed many trips to Foxwoods accompanied by his two devoted daughters. He will be deeply missed by his family and many friends.
Mr. DiPaolo is survived by his two daughters Diane Armitage, and her husband Robert of Beverly, Donna Fellows, wife of the late Robert Fellows of Beverly, his grandchildren Jimmy Tremblay and his wife Melissa of Texas, Michael Tremblay and his wife Kimberly of Salem, NH, Jessie Fellows of Savannah, GA, Zachary Fellows of Beverly, six great-grandchildren, a sister Johanna Manzi of Beverly, two brothers William DiPaolo and his wife Gigi of Topsfield, Thomas DiPaolo and his wife Carol of Peabody, many nieces and nephews and RJ his faithful canine friend.
His funeral service will be held in the O'Donnell Funeral Home 46 Washington Sq. (at Salem Commons), Salem, Wednesday Nov. 20, at 11:00 AM. Relatives and friends invited. Burial in St. Mary's Cemetery, Beverly. Visiting hours 9 to 11 AM prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made in Eli's memory to Hospice of the North Shore and Greater Boston 75 Sylvan St. Suite B-102 Danvers, MA 01923.
